to be knitted...

ahh...the post finished object blahs. you know the ones where you have lots of ideas, lots of little starts, but all lack the excitement to sustain you through to an actual knitted object. that's my problem at the moment.

i did start this:

leaflace.jpg

it's the leaf lace shawl, from fibertrends. the yarn is the absolutely amazing, i won't eat for a week just buy more, handmaiden sea silk, in the ebony colorway. i'm only posting a little peek, because i'm so close to done, that i'll be showing the whole thing off soon enough.

knitting this was the absolute highlight of a crappy week. i think i exclaimed "i HATE today" a dozen times a day for at least 4 straight days, i think i may have mimiced punching and kicking the wall during these exclaimations also, but one can't be sure. the good thing is, things are better now. it helps having a supervisor who also happens to be a good friend.

i highly recommend this shawl pattern for people who like to knit while doing other things. the repeats are easy to remember, so i've been able to watch several subtitled films and not screw it up. i highly recommend renting tony takitani. i loved it. it 's based on a story by haruki murakami, which is reason enough to see it, i think.

have a great week!

that leaf lace is pretty. shawl is triangular, i guess?

about patterns: what i'm actually after is simplicity 3835. it's a new BBW pattern, so maybe it wouldn't be included in sales? if you can get 3835, and they are really cheap, simplcity 3964 also would go down a treat. but i'm not quite so desperate for that one. anyway, do let me know if you can get it/ them. and what kind of stuff you'd like in return :)

uh... actually... thankyou kindly for the offer, but someone pointed me to a site that had patterns half price. and because i'm so damn impatient, i bought it...
patience was never my strong point ;)

Oooh, looks lovely. I can't wait to use my seasilk (waiting for pattern...)

That is a gorgeous lace pattern. Imagine my surprise to hear that it is relatively easy.

Can't wait to see the finished product.

That's a beautiful colorway! Looks like it's knitting up very nicely!

What a great tease! I can't wait to see it all finished!

I hope this week is better than the last!! :)

mmmmmmmmm, that's super lovely. and inspiring. i cam across some of the seasilk a few weeks ago, but didn't buy it. so pricey! but it's still on my mind; cant shake it. i may, i must, indulge. i've wanted to make the Shetland Triangle from Wrap Style, and after seeing your start here with the seasilk, i think i've convinced myself to try the ST with the SS.

Lovely, lovely pattern. Can't wait to see it done.
