buddy come home

sock knitting has become overwhelming. there are just too many great patterns out there. i started another single sock at an emergency vet visit the other day. i figured that jaywalkers would be a perfectly mindless, but cute, knit while i was waiting. i returned home with a sick cat, his antibiotics, and a 76 stitch sock cuff that was way too big. so i ripped and started reknitting over 68 stitches while at the yarn harlot. now it's too small. i mean i can pull it on, but not without a stream of expletives, and i wasn't all that thrilled with how this particular colorway was knitting up in the pattern. before i ripped though, i had to take a photo. the yarn is socks that rock in the "socktopus" colorway, modeled here with my very own socktopus. aww...

i'm going to ask a little favor. could you please send all your good healthy kitty vibes this way? my very sweet cat, buddy, took a turn for the worse this morning and had to have emergency surgery to get rid of a blockage. he's out now, and i got a chance to see him after the surgery and he was rubbing his face against my hand, purring and letting out these cute little drugged kitty meows. he can't come home for at least 3 days though, they still have to see how his kidneys are doing after he heals a bit. i'm thinking positively. i'm sure he'll be sitting on my shoulders and trying to stick his paw in my mouth while i'm sleeping in no time. a little extra positive energy wouldn't hurt though.

Poor kitty! Good kitty vibes on the way!

Get well wishes to Buddy! It is so hard when a furbaby gets sick.

I do have toask if Buddy has a tail...it didn't look like it in the pic. If not he would be the spitting image of my first cat who had a wee little stub of a tail.

aw! poor kitty! sending the vibes your way!

oh poor little buddy! feel better little guy!

Poor little guy! We're definitely sending good vibes his way... and some good sock vibes, too! Love the colors in that STR.

Oh, poor kitty--it's always so tough when a pet gets sick. I'll be sure to send healthy pet vibes your way!

Get well Buddy! My kitties and I are sending you loads of healthy kitty vibes. (P.S. Nice socktopus(s))

Sending happy catnip to your kitty... my little guy had a urinary obstruction once, too, and he is doing great now, years later. He just has to eat special food that prevents the crystals from forming in there... yeah, science, whatever... the point is that I'm sure your sweet little furball will be home purring happily, too!

I'm sending happy thoughts to your sick kitty. I hope everything goes well :)

best wishes to buddy...i hope he makes a full recovery very soon.

My cat had surgery for bladder stones in January. She's an old lady (13 or 14) and did super, super well. She healed up in about a month or so, and I could totally tell she felt so much better afterwards. The whole thing was really hard for me to get through, but completely worth it for Pepper to be healthy.

Good luck to Buddy. I hope he feels better soon.

Hope Little Kitten Man feels better soon, cats are so resilient. While you're waiting keep rolling on those socks!

my always mischevious Josephine sends her love to your feline!

Aw, much love to the kitty!!

& thanks for the link! xo.

From one cat mummy to another I have to say I wish your cutie kitty all the best healing and love because I know how hard it can be when an animal that you love and is part of your family gets sick.
My favourite dog ever had kidney and urinary tract problems towards the end of his life and it was so heartbreaking to see him be unwell. I really hope your kitty gets better. It's too sad when animals are sick!

that is EXACTLY what Desmond-o had last October. He pulled through, and I KNOW your little munchkin will, too.

At the time, Bird was unemployed and I had just started grad school (nevermind the new mortgage...) we got "CareCredit" the interest rate is highway robbery, but we got a "no-interest rate for one year" promotion. we pay about $150 a month for a year, and it doesnt seem so bad. just a thought.

as per the socks "issue" -- they go so fast (even for non-finisher me!) that I just make a list, cast on and believe they will all get their fair share of needle time. Also, I ususally have 1 mindless sock on the needles, and one that requires more paying attention.

Desmond-o just took 3 seconds to wake up and glare at me. He must be feeling Buddy's pain.

Best wishes to the kitty. Since the beginning of March, my little man, Truman, has had four dental surgeries/gum restitchings. He's lost three teeth, including the top left fang which broke when he took a bite of cruchy food pellet. He's lost two pounds and took various antibiotics for two months. I found out he has a heart murmer, to add insult to injury. He drools like it's his job and food falls out of the left side of his mouth when he eats. He is still congested and sneezes a lot. The possibilties were #1: bad teeth, #2: a bone infection in the jaw that weakened the teeth, or #3: cancer. The bills came to $1300, and I had a plan to sell my car if it was option three. The worst three months of my life. His sister got sick a few years ago and had to be put to sleep. But everytime I'd get weepy and and ask him if everything was okay, if he'd be alright, he'd purr a little and head butt me in the chin. Luckily, it was option two. A bone infection. We're out of the woods now and he's almost back to normal. The point is...trust him. Ask him how he's doing. He'll let you know.

Oh, and a friend's mom's cat had a totally blocked urethra. After a "gender reassignment" surgery, *she* is doing well. Really cranky after being forced into a sex change, but healthy nonetheless.
