elfine's socks ... finally!

my first ever sock is lonely no more:

elfine's socks

pattern: elfine's socks by anna bell
yarn: fleece artist merino sock in "moss"
needle: addi turbo lace us1 for magic loop
time to knit: a ridiculous 6 months
thoughts: hooray! i love them.
sock #1 was my first ever sock. although i thoroughly enjoyed knitting it, a whole new world had opened up to me, and i found myself casting on for several other socks instead. socktoberfest was what finally inspired me to finish them up. after all, i was already half-way there.

this is a great pattern and a really good introduction to knitting toe-up with short-row heels. had i weighed my yarn into 2 equal balls ahead of time i would have known that i had enough yarn left to add an extra repeat to each leg. oh well, lesson learned. in the end i did 4 repeats on the foot and 4 on the leg.

now, back to my bubble pullover...

These are great! Perfect color for the pattern.

super super cute!!!

Love them, the color and pattern work so well together.

Isn't it funny how sock knitting does that? That's such a great pattern, and it goes well with that green. Well done!

So pretty! That yarn is gorgeous and they look so pretty with your mary janes!

I love that green, so springy!

congrats on the pair -- just in time for the perfect day to put on handknit socks! brrrr.

oh, congrats!! they're lovely, and the green is just perfect.

Congrats on the first ever socks! I started my toe-up sock knitting on this pattern too, and I think it's super good. Your socks look lovely, very mossy with the yarn and lace combined!

So impressed that those are your first-ever socks. Now YES, get back to that bubble pullover, because I SO want to see it!

These are darling!

They are beautiful! Well done!!

Those are some gorgeous first socks!!

Wow! I just clicked to your blog, and your socks won me over! The color and the pattern add up to stunning! I'm so glad you finished them!

the tags are really cute, eh?
the ones i sent were generic, but she can do custom ones (with your name pre-printed) and also ones with washing instructions. they range from $7.50-10 for a pack of 10. she prints the images onto high quality transfer paper and then irons them onto muslin, but i think she could do other fabrics as well. (stripes would be wicked cute). the yarn ball can be any color you want, and you may be able to do other images, too.

no website yet, but you can contact her jocelyn.tunney@gmail.com

hah. I just saw Melissa, igored the little photo and assumed it was you.....duh.

Thanks!
