selbu fabulous
um, what are you doing here?
shouldn't you be knitting kate's fabulous hat, right this very second?
inside

outside

on the girlfriend's head

or mine

it's fabulous
pattern: selbu modern by kate!
yarn: reynold's whiskey, in a pukey green and peacock blue, less that one ball of each
needles: us1 for ribbing, us3 for everything else (i had to go up on needle sizes, i'm a tight knitter)
mods: none
knitting time: 4 days
this pattern is a beauty, i am especially crazy about how perfect the decreases are. go knit one. you must!
my dreams of having a new sweater to wear to rhinebeck on saturday have been crushed by more casting on, and swatching, for other sweaters. it's starting to become a problem round these parts.

Truly stunning, I love the colour combo. I've done a couple of fair isle bags, and maybe, just maybe, I'll attempt this some day!

dude. your color combo is fan-flipping-tastic. i totally love it. (and am so glad you liked knitting it. and between you and me, figuring out those decreases was one of my proudest knitting moments. I am glad you appreciated them!)

Y'know, I'm sitting in work right now with nothing to do, cursing myself for not having brought this with me so I could be knitting it right now. What a fool.
Anyway, more importanly - yours is AMAZING!! Really, truly amazing. I hope mine ends up with a fraction of the prettiness. And seriously, those decreases...

This hat is absolutely beautiful! I'll have to add this to my long list of hats. Not sure if I'm up for such an intricate project, but maybe later:)

Oh! I like the colourwork. Quite a great knit.

The gem-like tones and the shape of the colorwork give it a stained glass quality, like a rose window. It's stunning!

Gorgeous! Makes me even happier I've got one on the needles right now (and even sadder I have to work and not just knit all day on it). It really is a great design.

Excellent colorwork! You chose wonderful colors.

Beautiful hat, I love the colors you used. And for the record I'm not working on my selbu modern hat right now because I finished it last night and it's blocking right now :) I did however already buy yarn to make a second one.

That is a most fabulous hat! If I were your girlfriend I would selfishly refuse to remove it from my head.

That hat is beautiful! I need to knit this. After the holidays though, as I'm already over extended.
This is just so beautiful, the colors, the design, nice job!

Whisky is one of may favorite yarns and that pukey green was a genius choice!
Posted by: Heather | October 19, 2008 08:02 AM
I love absolutely everything about your finished hat! Seriously, those colors are the awesomeness together and I'm tempted to order some copycat colors for a Selbu Modern of my own.
