« Dear 2008, Thanks, it's been real. | Main | new pattern! »

back.

it seems that lately i'm either struggling to come up with bloggable material, or i'm overwhelmed with it. right now, i have lots to write about, so expect a barrage of posts coming your way. :)

i spent the better part of the last 2 weeks worrying about getting on an airplane for the first time in 17 years. the last time i flew was when i was 16. i hated it, and then put off flying for so many years that i had turned myself into an anxiety-ridden monster.

it turns out that all i really needed to get over my fear was lovely traveling companions, some knitting, and a healthy dose of prescription drugs. i actually kind of like flying now.
look, i actually stopped clutching the seat in front of me long enough to take a picture of the ladies who kept me sane:

traveling companions

it was a whirlwind trip, and i'm not even exaggerating a little bit. 4 days. and, the better part of 2 of them spent traveling (4 flights, layovers, etc.). i'm still really tired.

when we left new england, it was -4 degrees fahrenheit . we arrived at TNNA in san diego to find it was 75 degrees warmer. i love experiencing all of the seasons at home, but i'll admit, this was a nice little break.

i was surprised at how huge tnna was. it didn't look it, but it took pretty much the entire 2 days to see every booth. aside from dinner out with friends, most of our san diego experience was confined to the convention center, or it's steps. there was a nice little outdoor area where we snapped this photo. i regret leaving my other camera at home, but there's kristen, cecily, and me.

tnna friends

we stumbled upon the soho publishing booth, and i was surprised to find my garter yoke cardigan on display:

and then, upon further inspection, we discovered that all 3 of us had sweaters in their booth.

our sweaters

it was a lot of fun, and although i wish i had more time to talk to everyone, it is nice to be back on the east coast.
