new pattern!

i have a new pattern available in classic elite's spring/summer pattern book
heron island.

it's the sundance lace bottom tunic (ravelry link)

i knit and wrote the pattern for this in july of last year, and because i couldn't really write about it at the time, i neglected to take photos of the finished garment. luckily, one was snapped when i was nearly done with the whole thing and just trying it on.

i really like the way it was styled for the book. i envisioned it worn over jeans, because i'm a big fan of that short dress/long tunic cover my hips kind of look, but it's nice to see that it looks good this way too.

here, have a look at classic elite's photos:

I have a pattern in another one of their spring books, and as soon as it's posted somewhere else, i'll tell you all about it here too.

Lovely-lovely-lovely!
I love long cover-hip-area-tunic-like things too.
Love the cable-like pattern on the lower part, too. And the fresh-green-apple-colour. Would look great with blue jeans, I agree.
Wish I could find your magazine here in Denmark :o)

i tend to think that longer tunics make me look short, so i try to stay away from them, but this is very cute! i love the color!

i tend to not like long tunics b/c they make me look short, but this is very cute! i love the color. (sorry if this is a duplicate post - i didn't think my first attempt worked!

I have this in my Ravelry queue!!!

Wow!

I don't know if I'll ever be able to ge the booklet in the UK though but I will definitely search for it. I think the whole booklet is fantastic - well done!!

Lovely! Congrats on another published pattern -- it looks so nice. Styled or otherwise!

wow, you are cranking out the gorgeous designs! yay!

I want to be Melissa when I grow up.

I'm so excited to see another one of your fantastic designs! Maybe I'll get my butt in gear and be able to put out designs even half as good as yours!

Another winner! Very pretty. Could definitely see it with jeans.

Oh what a lovely top and I love the way the mag has fashioned it with the skirt too.

Oh, that is super cute! It looks perfect for summer--I'll have to think about making it. :)

Love the lacy pattern at the bottom. *adds to Rav queue*

Congrats! I love your patterns and can't wait to see what else you've been up to.

absolutely beautiful!

Cute, cute, cute!

Your design is beautiful -- love the lace stitch you used.

But, the see-through skirt on the model really makes me want to throw her a slip -- it's cute with the skirt but I always think it's embarrassing when people where white bottoms and you can see what's underneath.

It's beautiful Melissa! You are the pattern-writing queen!

You have real talent! Just beautiful :)

I am so thrilled for you, M~ amazing designs and getting some great recognition! I love the tunic!

So pretty! Great job, again. It's so great to see you as a budding designer - keep it up!

It's beautiful! I just posted about your Garter Yoke Cardi today, and wouldn't you know it, you have a new pattern! Congratulations!

Beautiful.

And, oh, Spring!

Love this! You're killin' my "no new books, mags or patterns" resolution! Sigh. Must sell something...

That's very pretty!

Such brilliant colors! I just dismantled a thrifted cashmere sweater too, but my finished product doesn't look quite so polished.
