since we last spoke...
i still haven't smoked (almost 4 months, hooray!),
i got a part-time job at my favorite yarn store. i love it, though i'm not sure the customers really love my constant insistence that they check gauge. people, i say these things because i love you.
i went to rhinebeck and saw lots of friends
oh, and i finished a new pattern!
it's a top-down, round yoke cardigan with puckered yoke details. it's knit is the lovely madelinetosh tosh merino and is just the kind of sweater i love to wear; simple, with one nice detail. i hope you'll love to wear it too.
you can buy the pattern on ravelry today and after that it will be available for purchase at the madelinetosh site.
i'm two inches away from finishing my 17th sweater this year. the good news is, this one is just for me. i'll be back in a few days with the details.

17th sweater this year!!?? Woman you are a machine.
I absolutely adore that new sweater pattern. I love the round yoke, top button cardis because they can be worn by big busted women (a hem) without making you look like a circus tent.
And 4 months! Totally awesome. So proud. :)

Oh, I am so jealous that you are working at WEBS. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE WEBS. I'll have to say hello to you next time I am there which is only about 3 times a year as I'm up in Vermont. Now, does this mean you have to change the title of your blog?....lol.

A Question for you: I bought teinted yarn similar to yours for your new pattern - I really like it - I could not find the Madelinetosh here in Quebec. At the shop, they told me to work with two balls, alternating the yarn every two rows, for the color melting. Do you do that? the yarn look quite similar to my eyes ...and I'm a little lazy, I don't feel like carrying two balls... What do you think?

Your newest sweater leaves me feeling a combination of awe and envy. And 17 sweaters! I've been working on the same sweater since last February (have finished various other smaller knitted projects, but still)! And working in a tarn store - please, may I live vicariously through you?

Excellent sweater! Gorgeous colors.
I just want you to know that you're quitting smoking inspired me to quit too. I was mainly a social smoker, but the time came. The wheezing sucks. I'm taking at least 3 friends with me! I'm on day 19... Congrats on your success!

I just want to say congrats on quitting smoking. I have put cigarettes down now for five years. It was the toughest thing I ever gave up, and knitting saved my life during the process. Don't go back. I didn't quit until I had already gotten Emphysema and it doesn't have to happen to you. Your sweaters are lovely. God bless and stay well, S.
