on november 13, 2009, my very sweet uncle lost his battle with pancreatic cancer. he was a kind man who will be missed terribly by our family. my poor mother has lost both her mother and brother to this terrible disease.
ironically, it's "pancreatic cancer awareness month" right this very second. wouldn't it be a great time to give to pancan.org?
i just made a donation of $40 from the recent sales of bea. i will be donating 100% of the profits from now until the end of the year.

I'm so very sorry. That particular cancer is so brutal. It killed my uncle less than two weeks after diagnosis. Hope the holidays bring you all together for support and love.

Sorry for your loss.
Pancreatic cancer killed my grandmother. I'll gladly buy your pattern and support your efforts.

My sympathies for you. I lost my grandmother to pancreatic cancer about 12 years ago. She had a long and full life and was ready to go. It brought out the best of the relatives who lived with her; they'd been nothing but selfish before, but took on the majority of the care that hospice couldn't provide and came out of it more caring people in general. But it was still sudden and heartbreaking for everyone around her, and we would have been happy to have more time with her.
It is such a brutal cancer as has already been said above, and it must be difficult to have that reminder just as the holiday season is starting. *hugs*

oh, i'm so sorry to hear this. i lost a friend a few weeks back to cervical cancer and the boy lost an aunt and family friend a few months back to breast and brain cancers - i think i'm going to make donations in family & friends' names to the ACS for holiday gifts this year.
we are thinking of you.

I completely understand how difficult losing someone to pancreatic cancer can be. My husband's father died this past Father's Day, only 3 weeks after his diagnosis. It's been a tough year since then trying to figure out life without him.

Sending you a big warm hug, Melissa. Your mom is surely grateful to have such a loving daughter.
