book giveaway!
And the winners are (thanks to the random number generator): comments #81 and #183 sharmie and knittaroo! Thanks everyone! The winners will hear from me later today.
first off, thanks to all who purchased the september circle pattern. your purchases over the last 2 months mean that i'll be able to donate $235.00 to pancan.org this week. thank you so much.
i just spent the whole weekend working on patterns for upcoming designs. 4 down, 3 to go! so, while i spend the rest of the evenings this week finishing up the others, i thought it would be the perfect time for a little book giveaway. i've been meaning to do this for months, but now is as good a time as any, right?
so, if you'd like to win a copy of New England Knits, just leave a comment on this post. (leaving a comment requires you to leave an email address, which is only visible to me, so that's how i'll contact you) i have 2 copies to give away, so your chances are pretty good! if you already have a copy, you can win one for a friend or to donate to your local library!
i will accept comments until midnight on Friday November 12, 2010. I'll announce the winner the next day.

This is the first pattern book that I've totally fallen in love with for some time. Not just a few nice patterns, but item after item that I desperately want to knit: Chelsea, Ashfield, Groveland, Greenfield. Also makes me realize that it has been far too long since I visited New England!

I have my very own signed copy of your wonderful book that you and Cecily signed at Hub Mills. But I have a friend fighting breast cancer who loved 3 of the items I have already made and would love to gift her with the book. Truly, it's the best pattern book I have bought in years. On my 4th project. Thanks!

Read a review, written by Kathleen Cubley, of the hats in your book in the Knitting Daily newsletter. I usually just skim the newsletter, but the Brattleboro hat caught my eye so I decided to check out more of the patterns - they all look fantastic. Great job! Even if I don't win a copy, I plan to find a way to get one... Christmas is coming! :-)

Hi Melissa,
I have to tell you, that I started knitting again after a long break (10 years) and I found over Ravelry your website. I'm so in love with all your pattern, specially the Brattleboro Hat. I will make that one for my daughter-in-law. She will have a blast, then one for me (maybe) and for my daughters. I have to get out my rusty needles, I brought over from Germany so may years ago. All I need it the pattern and if I should win the book, I will be set.
Posted by: Gabriele Taghizadeh | November 12, 2010 02:32 PM
I love your patterns! I already have a copy of New England knits, but definitely know someone who would welcome it.
Thanks!

Really proficient post. Theoretically I could write something like this too, but taking the time and effort to make a good article is a lot of effort…but what can I say….I’m a procrastinater. Good read though.
