weekend hats giveaway
it just occurred to me, that in all the excitement of getting ready for, and having a baby, i completely forgot to have a Weekend Hats giveaway.
so, here it is, a contest.
i've missed out on a lot around the internet over the last few months. so, while the baby sleeps, i'll do some catching up. to be entered to win one of 2 copies of Weekend Hats, just leave a comment here, with a link to something that you'd like to share. it can be a blog post, some knitting, something you bought, a photo, anything. winning comments will be chosen using a random number generator. you can leave a comment until the end of the day EST on 7/15/12. i will ship the books to any country.
and so that everyone can be a winner, enter WEEKENDHATS at checkout and get 30% off of 1 pattern in my Ravelry store here.
Good Luck!

I'm first? That's a honor!
I really love the Greenery Beret from that book and I will definitively knit it in the fall. Right now, I'm focusing all my knitting for tree sweaters for this charity: http://www.yarnsunlimited.com/knittingforcharity/knittingtoheal.html
I'm proud to be part of this cause.

Wow- thanks for such a great give-away. I've been craving this book for a while. I just put a poem about hand knit socks by Pablo Neruda on my blog. I think it mirrors my feelings pretty well!

Congrats on the baby!
Visited this site last weekend on the way home from a camping trip. Really cool. Most of the older buildings in our town were made with bricks from this place.

I've looked at that book many times, had it in my cart a few times, and I've always been "good" and haven't hit the "buy" button. But I still really want it!
Hummm...what to share...I teach in a program for under-educated public school kids that does absolutely amazing things for their future. So I'll share their web site: http://www.ric.edu/upward_bound/ There are generations of people who wouldn't be where they are now without this program!

Perfect timing, I've been thinking that hats would be the ideal summer projects, but haven't found the pattern inspiration to cast on yet.
I'm really late to this party, but in case you are too... shrub: http://angrychicken.typepad.com/angry_chicken/2012/04/shrub-the-drinking-kind.html

I have been reading the Make Something blog about her experiences with her dog, Maisy, who has cancer. She and her husband moved to Wisconsin for a month for treatment. The posts have been beautifully heartfelt, and the crafting she has done along the way is a testament to why working with your hands is so important to us all. Here is a link, give it a read, it is compelling writing, http://www.makesomething.ca/
Congratulations on the baby!
